Then we will discuss each series and range that Hot Toys manufactures and look at the prices for each of them, comparing them to each other to determine which are the most affordable. Finally, we will look at the fluctuating price for Hot Toys if there is any.

Hot Toys price overview

Hot Toys can range in price but and sit comfortably in the hundreds of dollars range. However, some are even worth up to $20 000USD depending on the model and its rarity. Yes, that is correct—the Joint promotional Iron Man MK.VI Hot Toys collectible was a limited promo edition, and only 3000 were made in total. This increased the price and value for them intrinsically.

Other Hot Toys figures such as the God Father sell for over $1000, while the Billie Jean Michael Jackson collectible is estimated to be $1500.

Hot Toys series, ranges, and prices

Hot Toys come in various series, and as such, the prices for collectibles within these series ranges. It is important to note that one series is not more expensive than the other because the prices range between a couple hundred dollars or more. Let’s explore some of them.

1/6 scale collectibles series

These are Hot Toy’s main line of collectibles and the ones which thrust them into the spotlight. As we stated above, these Hot Toys, if rare enough, can range into the thousands of dollars. It is good to keep in mind that you can find some for a couple of hundred dollars, but if you were expecting to pay less than that, that would not be the case even for a secondhand one.

Furthermore, it is good to keep in mind that the 1/6collectible range includes their Diecast series, the MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series), the DS (Deluxe Series), and the PPS (Power Pose Series).

1/4 scale bust collectibles series

The ¼ inch bust collectibles are relatively cheaper when compared to the 1/6 action figure collectibles. This does not make them inexpensive by any means, and this range has no particular branches or offshoots into other categories. Nevertheless, these  1/4 scale bust collectibles sit on the shelf just as beautifully as any other 1/6 scale collectible.

3-inch and 6-inch Cosbaby series

The only range of Hot Toys that you will be able to acquire new and for under $100 is their Cosbaby series. These collectibles are miniatures and are what you would call a parody of collectibles. They include the collectibles designed to be bobble-heads based still on characters from media such as movies, comic books, video games, and more. Even though not as intricate and precise as their 1/6 and 1/4 scale brethren, they are still pretty awesome to have.

As you can see, the three ranges of Hot Toys that you can acquire fair in price and range subjectively from low to high from the Cosbaby series, through the 1/4 scale bust series, and then to the 1/6 scale highly sought after range, which can cost thousands of dollars.

Do Hot Toys prices fluctuate, and are they a good investment

Hot Toys are rare collectibles, and as such many of them are valued at a high price. The prices for these types of collectibles do not fluctuate in price. They only increase if a series becomes very difficult to find or if there were only a limited number of the collectibles for a specific series that were made (limited editions).

Even when sold secondhand, you will rarely find Hot Toys that fall below the estimated value. However, it is good to note that, in essence, these are toys, and to consider them an investment would be risky because one never knows if the price of a toy will go up or down. Instead, purchase them for enjoyment purposes saving yourself any kind of heartache.

Conclusion

To conclude, Hot Toys range in price; however, there are three categories of Hot Toys, and these differ in price when comparing them to each other. The most expensive range is the 1/6 scale collectibles that range from a couple of hundred to thousands of dollars.

You will find the 1/4 bust collectible or regular 1/4 scale collectible one level down from that, and these are almost as expensive as their 1/6 counterparts but a little cheaper due to their size. The last set of Hot Toys are the Cosbaby range, and these are miniature collectibles design to be parodies and bobble-heads, and you can acquire one of these for under $100.

In terms of fluctuating price, because the 1/6 and 1/4 range are, in essence, all limited rare editions, their prices do not ever decrease, and depending on how rare they are, the price will increase intrinsically. This goes for secondhand Hot Toys because you have to understand that because these collectibles are sought after, the owners usually keep them in mint condition.
